BIM Revit Team Leader
Job Summary:
BIM Team Leader has the responsibility to plan and control team members to build 3D models, prepare cost estimates (BOQs) and detailed drawings of reinforced concrete, or drawings as specified. Process engineering drawings and plans and use various software applications as required to create the desired products and services.
Responsibilities
Reinforced Concrete Modeling:
The BIM Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the development of accurate and detailed 3D models of reinforced concrete elements using BIM software like Revit. They ensure that the models reflect the design intent, incorporate the appropriate reinforcement detailing, and comply with industry standards and codes.
Reinforcement Detailing:
The BIM Team Leader develops reinforcement detailing for the reinforced concrete elements in the BIM model. They ensure that the reinforcement meets the design requirements, such as rebar sizes, spacing, and cover, and complies with relevant codes and standards. They also incorporate proper annotation and tagging of reinforcement elements for clarity and documentation.
Reinforcement Quantification and Scheduling:
The BIM Team Leader oversees the extraction of accurate quantities of reinforcement materials from the BIM models. They collaborate with estimators and project managers to generate reliable schedules and quantities for procurement and construction planning purposes.
BIM Standards and Templates:
The BIM Team Leader develops and maintains BIM standards, templates, and libraries specific to reinforced concrete engineering. They establish guidelines for reinforcement modeling, annotation, and detailing to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
Quality Control and Assurance:
The BIM Team Leader performs regular quality control checks on the reinforced concrete BIM models and deliverables. They review the models for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to design and construction requirements. They also ensure that the reinforcement detailing meets the necessary standards and guidelines.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field is required.
- In-depth knowledge of Revit Structure for concrete reinforcement is essential.
- The ability to model, identify, and resolve complex technical issues related to BIM models and project coordination.
- Proficiency in other BIM software and tools, such as Navisworks, Dynamo, and BIM 360, is required to facilitate project coordination and collaboration.
- Certifications such as Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit or the Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) BIM Credential are preferred.
- Effective leadership skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills, are essential for managing a team of BIM professionals and collaborating with stakeholders.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in BIM modeling and coordination is required. Candidates should have a proven track record of successfully completing BIM projects.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
Provide QA/QC for all your work.
- Report daily work to the Manager at the DBI-VN office or other individuals as assigned by the Company.
